Pre-Screening of “Scandal”

I’ve mentioned on the blog before how excited I am about the new ABC show “Scandal”, which stars one of my favorite actresses Kerry Washington, premiering soon!  Well, this week is the week!  But more importantly, the Black Public Relations Society of Washington, DC, along with ABC and Howard University, are hosting a screening of the show TONIGHT!  To say I’m beyond excited is an understatement! 

If you plan on attending, you may RSVP here.  And if you’re interested in becoming a member, you can do so when you sign up to attend.  Get there early, because you want to make sure you have a prime seat!  And if you’re not able to attend tonight’s screening, don’t fret; just tune in on Thursday night.    Until next time, I’m just a Southern girl…in the city!

It’s Coming! DC Week 2011

Digital Capital Week is a major event in the DC area.  With only one year under its belt, DC Week has become the premier technology event in our nation’s capital and has events ranging from parties to panels to workshops.  I was able to attend some of the events last year and was super impressed with what I saw.  I was able to meet some great people and learn a lot about technology and how I could become involved. 

This year is no different.  With tons of events happening, there is an event for every experienced and novice techie.  I definitely plan appearing at different events, such as Benevolent Media Kickoff, DJ-ital Brew & AutoBridge Mixer, Geek to Chic Fashion Show and After Party, and, of course, the DC Week Closing Party.  Depending on my work schedule, I plan to attend some of the day events.

BENEVOLE, INC. CELEBRATES ONE YEAR OF SERVICE

Omega Psi Phi Centennial at The Park at 14th

For those of you that don’t know, I’m a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.   (Not that that’s really relevant to today’s post, but I felt like you should you know…if you didn’t already.)  And I have the pleasure of serving on the host committee for tonight’s Crown Royal 100′s recognition of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s Centennial Celebration tonight at The Park at 14th.  Yes, you’re favorite Southern girl will be in the building (You all know how I feel about The Park, but exceptions can be made).  And I’ve already started partying with the Bruhs, thanks to my linesisters.  So I know this weekend is going to be epic.  See below how you can get in on all of the fun tonight!  And might I suggest arriving early; it’s bound to be packed!

Crown Royal 100 in recognition of Omega Psi Phi Centennial Celebration at The Park at Fourteenth

(July 12) The Urbane Lifestyle & Entertainment Group, DDM Group and Usual Suspectz welcome Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Washington, D.C.s chic professionals to Crown Royal 100: Omega Edition, this Thursday, July 28, beginning at 5 p.m. Crown Royal 100 is a special edition of Park Thursdays and the weeks premier kick-off event for the Centennial Anniversary of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc., sponsored by Crown Royal, one of the worlds top-selling spirits.

The event will hosted by NBA Superstar Shaquille O’Neal The Crown Royal 100, 50 Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and 50 Ladies from the Divine Nine sororities.
